Joe Hannon is a director and senior adviser at Scale-up Systems Limited, developers of Dynochem software and Scale-up Suite and now part of Mettler Toledo. Joe is a chemical engineer and graduated from University College Dublin, Ireland in 1987. He worked first for BHR Group Limited (FMP) in the UK, carrying out laboratory research & development and scale-up work on behalf of a consortium of companies including Dow Chemicals, ICI and DuPont. He obtained his PhD on CFD simulation and prediction of chemical reactions from Cranfield University (UK) in 1992. In 1994 he started Scale-up Systems as a consulting and software development company and since 1999, their focus has been on the batch industries, especially pharmaceutical API. The company supports 15 of the top 15 pharmaceutical companies and more than 200 innovator, generic, CMO and CRO companies worldwide, across all drug modalities. Joe is involved in general management, business development, customer training & support. He is an active AIChE contributor and volunteer, especially in PD2M, an AIChE Fellow and member of CTOC.
