Purdue University

Prof. Morgan obtained his Ph.D. from Rice University where he studied producing anti-cancer drugs in plant tissue culture. He then did postdoctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied biocatalysts in organic solvents. He is currently a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University. Prof. Morgan’s research program focuses on the production of valuable compounds in photosynthetic organisms and understanding metabolic pathways for sustainable production of biochemicals. He received the NSF CAREER award and is a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. Currently he is the Editor in Chief of the AIChE journal Biotechnology Progress.
