José Méndez-Andino is Vice President of Research and Development at Owens Corning (OC), a world leader in insulation, roofing, and fiberglass composites products and systems.
Since joining the Owens Corning in 2012, José has held various leadership roles focused on driving superior productivity and disproportionate business growth via new product and technology innovations. He leads OC-Insulation Research & Development, Licensees & Affiliates and Labs Services. In addition, he is accountable for talent management systems impacting the Global Science & Technology organization (e.g. New Hire Development Program and Diversity & Inclusion Practice).
Prior to joining Owens Corning, José worked at Procter & Gamble where he held diverse technical and business roles supporting billion-dollar brands such as Bounty Paper Towels, Vicks and P&G Pharmaceuticals.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial chemistry at University of Puerto Rico; Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry at the Ohio State University; post-doctorate in natural product synthesis at the University of Pennsylvania; and master’s degree in applied anthropology at the University of North Texas. He is a member of the American Chemical Society and has co-authorized over 20 scientific publications in major peer-reviewed journals.
