Juan’s Ph.D. was awarded at the National University of Argentina in 1996 with a major in biochemistry and metabolic engineering.
Also, he went through a Post-Doctoral Research position in Metabolic Engineering at the Chascomus Institute of Technology, Buenos Aires, from 1996 to 1998; and followed by a Post-Doctoral Associate in Biochemical Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, from 1998 to 2001.
He was hired by GSK in 2001, and since that time, he has been involved as a scientific leader in the development of production processes, technology transfer, microbial and mammalian process characterization. He has been co-authoring in regulatory dossiers, being in pre-approval inspections and post-approval commitments. He has been in several projects and publishing to show what GSK has done to bring new production processes based on sound science.
