Kai-Jher Tan is a PhD candidate in Prof. T. Alan Hatton’s group in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Kai-Jher’s research interests lie in the design and application of redox-active materials and processes for environmental separations. Kai-Jher received the 2020 AIChE Separations Division Graduate Student Research Award in the area of adsorption and ion exchange, in part for his work on the development of a heterogeneous redox-active system for the enhanced electrochemical separation of ions in water, which was published in Advanced Functional Materials
