Karl Johnson

Karl Johnson is a Fellow of AIChE and William Kepler Whiteford Professor in the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where he also serves as the Associate Director for the Center for Research Computing. He joined the department in 1995, before which he was a National Research Council Research Associate at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC.

He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1992 from Cornell University and MS and BS degrees, also in Chemical Engineering, from Brigham Young University. His area of research involves atomistic modeling of problems related to energy and the environment. He has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles and has an h-index of 61.
