Karthikeyan Marimuthu, PhD, is a chief engineer in the Energy Research & Innovation Division at Phillips 66 Co. He has more than ten years of industrial experience in process development and scale-up, process engineering, process modeling, simulation and optimization, conceptual engineering, and technoeconomic modeling. He has a PhD in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon Univ., a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from A. C. Tech, Anna Univ., India. During the course of his academic research, he focused on multiscale modeling and optimal control of DNA amplification reactions and published papers in academic journals. Marimuthu is an active member of AIChE.
