Kathryn (Kate) Peretti is Program Manager for R&D Consortia in the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) at the U.S. Department of Energy. AMO consortia span a broad range of public-private partnerships, including Energy Innovation Hubs, Manufacturing USA Institutes, and a User Facility. The topics covered by these consortia span a broad range of technologies that support advanced manufacturing and secure supply chains for the clean energy economy. In addition to her role as Program Manager, Kate manages the RAPID Institute, co-manages the BOTTLE Consortium and associated R&D projects that address plastic waste, and manages the emerging portfolio in industrial decarbonization. Kate came to AMO as a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow in 2018. Prior to starting her fellowship in AMO, Kate spent over 11 years working for ExxonMobil, where she became increasingly interested in energy-related issues. Her experience in industry covered a broad range of efforts, including catalysis and process research, catalyst manufacturing support and technical sales and licensing. These positions leveraged her deep background in chemical catalysis and provided experience in chemical and process engineering.
