Dr. Kelly Thomas is a Vice President at BakerRisk and leads the Blast Effects Section. His work at BakerRisk over the last 22 years deals with the characterization and modelling of flammability & explosion related phenomena with a focus on the prediction and testing of blast loads from accidental explosions. Dr. Thomas has also participated in the investigation of numerous accidental industrial explosions while at BakerRisk. Prior to BakerRisk, he worked for 10 years at the Savannah River National Lab, with a focus on flammability & explosion related phenomena. Dr. Thomas serves as a principal on the NFPA Explosion Protection Systems technical committee.
