Kip Nieman

Kip Nieman is a chemical engineering PhD student and graduate assistant in the field of process control at Wayne State Univ. He graduated with Summa Cum Laude distinction with both an Associate of Arts degree from Macomb Community College and a BS in chemical engineering from Wayne State Univ. As an undergraduate, he received several awards, including the American Chemical Society (ACS) Distinguished Undergraduate Student Award from the Detroit Local Section and recognition for having the best senior design project of his graduating class. He received the Hank and Joy Kuchta Chemical Engineering and Materials Science Scholarship (2019–2020) in the Wayne State Dept. of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. Nieman was recently awarded a Michigan Space Grant Consortium Virtual Graduate Fellowship for work related to advanced control and additive manufacturing.
