Kristine Horvat, PhD, is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at the Univ. of New Haven, where she teaches laboratory, thermal-fluid, materials science, and sustainable energy courses. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical and molecular engineering and PhD in materials science and engineering from Stony Brook Univ. Her laboratory research involves gas hydrates and algae-based biofuels for low-carbon energy. Her educational research interests include project-based learning, K-12 educational outreach activities, and methods for teaching technical writing to engineering students.
