Laura Basgall is a Senior Research Specialist in Dow Consumer Solutions Process R&D. After obtaining her BS in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University, she joined Dow in Midland, Michigan as a Process Research Engineer in the Silicone Polymers and HTV Elastomers group, where she resides today. Her work has focused on process development of highly viscous materials, supporting manufacturing improvements around the globe, and new product commercialization. She serves as Publicity Chair for the Mid-Michigan (MM) section of the AIChE and was selected as the 2019-2020 MMAIChE Young Chemical Engineer of the Year. Outside of work Laura stays active with her husband and two young children, enjoys gardening in Michigan summers and curling in Michigan winters, and baking and cooking for friends and family.
