Laurent Daviet joined Firmenich in 2008 and is currently Director of Biotechnology and Distinguished Scientist, Corporate R&D. His current research focuses on the biosynthesis of Flavor and Fragrance ingredients using Synthetic Biology and Biocatalysis.
Before joining Firmenich, Laurent was Head of Biological Research at Hybrigenics, an Institut Pasteur spin-off company based in Paris. There, his research focused on using functional proteomics for the discovery of novel therapeutic targets. Prior to Hybrigenics, Laurent did post-doctoral work at Harvard Medical School working on the signaling and function of G-protein coupled receptors. He received his PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of Lyon (France). He published over 65 peer-reviewed scientific articles (h Index: 34) and is the author of more than 15 patents.
