Ligeng Yin is a Research Scientist in Dow’s Home & Personal Care R&D (HPC), based in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. His current research focuses on the development of high-performing and sustainable polymers for applications in dish care, fabric care, and skin care. Ligeng currently leads the anionic polysaccharide platform at HPC and is responsible for building the pipeline with new backbones and functionalities.
Ligeng received B.S. in Chemistry at the University of Science and Technology of China in 2007 and obtained Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry at the University of Minnesota in 2013. His Ph.D. study focused on amphiphilic block copolymers, addressing both the fundamental self-assembly behavior and applications in pharmaceutics. After joining Dow, Ligeng has contributed to a variety of chemistry including acrylic emulsions, Si-acrylic hybrids, and polysaccharides. Ligeng has authored 10 journal articles & book chapters and holds 11 patents/applications.
