More than 20 years’ experience in advanced separation technologies with focus on industrial membrane applications and process intensification in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biochemical industries.
He has chemical engineering background, started his career at Institute of Membrane Technology, Italy, working on the development of an integrated process for the production and downstream processing of carboxylic acids. He moved then to DSM Research, Netherland, for a Process Intensification project for investigating the in-situ product removal of an active pharmaceutical ingredient from its fermentation broth.
Luigi worked in the process technology department at Sandoz before joining the Pall Advanced Separation Systems group, engineering the modular systems for biopharmaceutical downstream processing.
From 2008 till 2016 he was part of the Process Plants group of Sulzer Chemtech, dealing with membrane pervaporation, vapour permeation and hybrid plants.
He is co-founder and managing director of DeltaMem AG since 2016.
