Marc Hölling

Marc Hölling studied Process Engineering at the Hamburg University of Technology and afterwards did his Ph.D. at the department of thermofluiddynamics. In 2007, he started his career at the steel plant in Hamburg, which belongs to the world’s biggest steel producer ArcelorMittal. He was responsible for energy efficiency and optimization of the direct reduction plant. In 2010, he became manager of the department of Process Technology, which is in charge of process development and optimization for the whole steel works. In 2016, he changed to the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and became Professor of Chemical Engineering. His research interests are CO2-free steel production, energy storages and transformation of the energy supply.
