MARIA DEL CARME PONS ROYO, PhD, completed her bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, followed by a master’s degree in life science and technology from Delft Univ. of Technology. She defended her PhD thesis’ primary focus on protein precipitation and filtration at BOKU Univ. under the supervision of Professor Alois Jungbauer. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Richard Braatz’s lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she continues her research on the development and optimization of innovative bioprocesses utilizing cutting-edge prototyping tools.
