Mark Swientoniewski has 45 years of broad-based chemical and nuclear process design engineering experience. His experiences include project engineering, conceptual and detailed engineering design, process control and instrumentation design and troubleshooting, hazardous operations analysis, nuclear facility safety analysis, remedial investigation/feasibility studies (RI/FS), resource recovery and treatment technology design and operation, Superfund site investigations, innovative technology research and development, pilot-plant and laboratory design and operation, and analytical method development. Mark has a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1979 in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Mark has been a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee and New York since 1984 and 1989. Mark has published six technical journal articles. Mark is certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt. Mark is a member of the AIChE serving the Knoxville-Oak Ridge section as Chairman in 2007 and 2016 and as an executive board member since 2002 and newsletter editor since 2019. Mark served as Chairman of the AIChE Management Davison in 2017 and elected an AIChE Fellow in 2018. Mark is actively teaching science and engineering students about leadership and ethics. Mark is active in the community with his philanthropic interests.
