Masayuki Su’etsugu is a Professor of College of Science, Rikkyo University, Tokyo. He is also an outside director of Moderna Enzymatics, inc. which is former OriCiro Genomics, inc. He developed Replication Cycle Reaction (RCR), which is a cell-free technology to amplify large circular DNA, by reconstituting E. coli chromosome replication using 26 purified proteins. He co-founded OriCiro Genomics as Chief Science Officer (CSO) based on the RCR technology in 2018. The company was acquired by Moderna, inc. in 2023. He worked as Assistant Professor at Kyushu University, Japan (2003-2008, 2011-2013), and Postdoctoral Fellow at Newcastle University, UK (2008-2011). He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Kyushu University.
