Associate Professor
University of Pennsylvania

Matthew Good is an associate professor in the departments of Cell and Developmental Biology and Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. His lab investigates the unique cell biology of early development, including mechanisms regulating genome activation, cell and organelle size control and the specialized cell cycle in model blastula vertebrate embryos. Additionally, his research efforts focus on understanding the rules governing self-assembly of disordered polypeptides into membraneless compartments. The Good Lab has pioneered the construction of synthetic organelles to target native signaling pathways and reprogram cell behaviors for applications in regenerative medicine. Dr. Good has been honored with a Miller Fellowship, Burroughs Welcome Fund CASI award, Charles E Kaufman New Investigator award and March of Dimes Basil O’Connor award.
