Michael Loewenstein is the current Vice President of Scientific Consulting for Q Labs LLC in Cincinnati, OH. After earning his B.S. in Microbiology from The Ohio State University in 2011, Michael began working in R&D Microbiology at Procter & Gamble where he developed expertise in rapid method validation, new product development, and microbial risk assessment. During his time at Procter & Gamble, Michael developed a passion for “end-to-end” microbiology – minimizing microbial risk from product development, through manufacturing, and consumer use. He currently utilizes those skills to assist Q Labs’ clients in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics/personal care, household care, water treatment, and food industries.
Michael is actively involved in several industry organizations. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Microbiology Committee of the Personal Care Products Council. He is also a member of the Official Methods Board, and Chair of the Legionella Working Group for AOAC International.
