Michael Parr is the founding principal of The Parr Policy Group LLC, a policy and market consultancy focused on the role of public policy in business growth. Michael specializes in policy development and advocacy in the areas of energy, environment, and sustainability. Michael founded PPG after retiring from DuPont, where over a 30-year career his diverse responsibilities included advising business units on environmental and sustainability matters, managing global contaminated land liabilities and leading global safety, health and environmental due diligence activities for acquisitions. In addition, for almost 20 years, Michael lead DuPont’s federal government affairs efforts on environment, energy, technology, manufacturing and sustainability related topics, engaging with Congress, the White House, Administrative agencies and private sector stakeholders including non-governmental organizations.
As the Principal of Parr Policy Group Michael has led advocacy efforts for private sector companies and associations, including the American Chemistry Society. He established and led the Sustainable Chemistry Alliance, companies across the chemical enterprise value chain from raw materials producers to consumer products companies, to secure Federal policy and funding to advance the role of sustainable chemistry in the enterprise. He also formed and leads the Ultra Low Carbon Solar Alliance, a consortium of manufacturers across the solar photovoltaics value chain, that is creating and leveraging public and private sector preferences for PV products with lower levels of embodied manufacturing carbon emissions to drive decarbonization of solar manufacturing globally.
