Michael A. Taube is an independent contractor and consultant at S&D Consulting, Inc. (Email: Michael.Taube@SDConsulting.com). He graduated from Texas A&M Univ., College Station, with a BS in chemical engineering. He began his career in 1988 with ARCO Chemical (now LyondellBasell) as a process engineer, and then a process control engineer. He later worked for Honeywell where he held numerous individual contributor, leadership, and consulting roles for distributed control system (DCS) implementations (e.g., grassroots units and control system retrofits). Since 2002, Taube has served the needs of the global process industries, including the refining, petrochemical, chemicals, and bioprocessing sectors, as a consultant. His activities include process design, project management, project development and justification, process control and optimization, operations and maintenance, operational excellence, and expert witness analysis.
