Ph.D. Candidate
Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering, Northwestern University
As a part of his Ph.D. research, Mihir collaborates with Dow Chemicals on maximizing epoxide ring-opening selectivity through the development of new homogeneous catalyst systems for polyol synthesis. Some of his recent work includes:
- Developing a method to enhance Arylborane catalyst selectivity by 37% using diol additives, potentially resulting in reduced epoxide consumption
- Evaluating structure-function relationships in arylborane catalysts for polyol production
- Collaborating on the development of data-driven microkinetic models for epoxide ring-opening
