Mike DePierro is a Principal Research Scientist working in the Silanes & Hybrids Process R&D group in Midland, Michigan. He joined Dow in 2010 and has led various organosilane and organosiloxane process development projects. He previously led the Silicones Process IP team as well as the Organosilanes ICM team. He also led the Process Chemistry Community of Practice as well as the Specialty Siloxanes Tech Center program, overseeing process development activities and significant expansion of several organosilicone products. Prior to joining Dow he was employed with General Electric and Sabic Innovative Plastics with roles in process and product development. He completed a Ph.D. in 2006 in Chemical Engineering at the University of Iowa with a focus on photopolymerization, reaction kinetics, and development of novel nanostructured polymers.
