Dr. Xie is a trained Environmental Engineer specialising in membrane-based processes for desalination and wastewater treatment. As a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bath, Dr. Xie is interested in using membrane-based processes to address the water-energy-resource nexus in an interdisciplinary field that bridges chemical and environmental engineering. Dr. Xie is also a receipt of Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Award in 2018.
