Mojtaba Ghadiri is the Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Institute of Particle Science and Engineering (IPSE), the University of Leeds, with research activities on (i) cohesive powder flow and mechanics of particle-fluid systems, (ii) mechanical breakdown of particulate solids, encompassing attrition and comminution; (iii) electrical effects in bulk particulate systems; (iv) coating, caking and segregation; and (v) granulation of powders. The focus of his work is on linking material properties with particle behaviour in processing of particulate solids. He is a consultant of the International Fine Particle Research Institute, where he maintains close links with other academics and industrialists worldwide on technological developments and research strategies in this area. His current and recently completed projects are funded by both the EPSRC and industry.
