Nastassja Lewinski is currently an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director of Chemical and Life Science Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University. She holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. Dr. Lewinski has focused her career on integrating biological and environmental compatibility into the design process of engineered nanomaterials. Her research areas include nanotoxicology, nanoinformatics, and sustainable nanotechnology. Since 2014, Dr. Lewinski has served as Principal Investigator or co-PI on 13 externally funded projects, has directed 5 graduate theses and 10 capstone projects, has created and taught 4 graduate elective courses, and has authored or co-authored 37 peer-reviewed journal articles. Among her honors and awards includes the AIChE 35 Under 35 Award in 2017.
