Nicholas Hudak, Ph.D., is the Cell R&D Manager at ION, where he leads a team of battery scientists in cell fabrication, electrochemical analysis, and materials characterization. Nick was previously a Lead Engineer at The MITRE Corporation, where he performed government-sponsored research and analysis in the Power & Energy Systems group. Prior to that, he was a technical staff member at Sandia National Laboratories, where his R&D work encompassed lithium-ion battery materials, electrochemical thermodynamics, flow batteries, and beyond-lithium battery chemistries. Nick received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2007 from Columbia University, where he researched biocatalytic cathodes for fuel cells.
