Ouwei Wang

Dr. Wang graduated from UC Berkeley with a Ph.D. in Microbiology. After spending several years elucidating the physiology and molecular mechanisms of microbial perchlorate respiration, he transitioned his research focus to applied microbiology. He leveraged fundamental knowledge of microbial metabolism to build applied molecular tools, including the microbial contamination control system that enables contamination-resistant continuous bioprocessing. Upon graduating, Ouwei founded Pow.Bio, a startup that is developing intelligent continuous bioprocessing technologies to unlock the future of sustainable biomanufactured products.
