Paul Murray is the Principal Consultant and Head of Section in the Aberdeen office within DNV U.K., and has over 10 years’ experience (Email: paul.murray@dnv.com). As well as being responsible for a team delivering technical safety studies for offshore installations in the North Sea and worldwide, he has experience in working closely with operators and engineering contractors to provide consulting services for installations at various stages from concept design through to decommissioning. His main areas of focus are on risk-based decision-making, quantitative risk assessment (QRA), and consequence modeling for offshore installations. Murray, jointly with Zoë Wattis, has also led the development of Cloud QRA, a web-based QRA package for offshore assessments with interactive 2D/3D visuals and dashboards. Murray has presented papers at conferences on both this topic and risk-based engineering challenges.
