Paul is based in Singapore where he leads Aon’s Enterprise wide approach to Oil & Gas companies for the Asia region. Paul is a Chartered Engineer who also holds a masters degree in Maritime Law & Policy. Prior to working in the insurance market, he gained significant Oil & Gas project management and construction experience as well as drilling rig operations and marine liability matters.
After working with Noble Denton, Schlumberger Sedco Forex and Kvaerner Oil & Gas he joined a major P&I Club in 1994 and two years later moved into adjusting, working in Singapore and handling a variety of onshore and offshore energy insurance claims throughout SE Asia and Australia before returning to London in 1999. He was part of the management buyout team that purchased loss adjusters Steege Kingston and was an executive director of the company prior to moving to Marsh brokers in 2007, where he accepted the role of global leader for claims and engineering within the energy practice.
Paul joined Aon in 2009 and turned his expertise towards placing insurance risks, particularly for complex upstream construction projects as our Global CAR leader, before relocating to Asia to lead the Energy & Mining business and taking up his current expanded role to promote Aon United.
