Pauline Ollitrault became a research staff member at IBM Quantum, IBM Research – Zürich in 2021 after completing her PhD on the subject of quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry jointly between IBM Research and the chemistry department of ETHZ. Her research focuses on applications of quantum computers to chemistry problems such as electronic and vibrational structure calculations as well as quantum dynamics.
Pauline holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Molecular and Biological Chemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). She wrote her Master’s thesis on “Compressed virtual orbital basis for dispersion interactions” while at UC Berkeley under Prof. Martin Head-Gordon. In the course of her studies, she also spent an exchange year at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
