Principal Application Engineer

Pieter Schmal is a Principal Application Engineer at PSE and the Head of PSE Academic. He is based in PSE’s NJ office in the US. He has an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the TU Delft in The Netherlands on large-scale dynamic modelling. He has over 20 years of modelling experience. After his Ph.D. he did 2 post-docs on heat-integrated distillation control and optimization with a visit to NTNU in Norway. He had his own consulting company from 1998-2008 that focused on commercializing a new separation technique. In 2008 Pieter joined PSE as a consultant in London, UK. In 2010 Pieter moved to the NJ office of PSE.
