Pradeep Jain is a Senior Fellow for Feedstocks, Elastomers, E&T, Olefins, Aromatics & Alternatives, Packaging, H&M, and Polyethylene, Licensing & Catalyst, A&FM Technology.
Pradeep Jain started at The Dow Chemical Company in 1989 as a Research Engineer in Specialty Polyolefin’s. Over the past 25 years, he has led the process development for the proprietary olefins polymerization technologies including INSITETM and INFUSETM. Pradeep’s significant innovations in solution polyolefin process technology have helped to transform this olefin polymerization platform into an industry leading, versatile and cost competitive process. These key, commercially successful process developments span the broad range from Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) to Specialty Polyolefins, Plastomers, Elastomers, and Olefin Block Copolymers. His recent contributions include development and implementation of high temperature, molecular catalysts to improve production of specialty polyolefins, such as ENGAGE™ Polyolefin Elastomers, without capital investment and invention of a novel reactor technology for efficient production of DowlexTM LLDPE.
Pradeep is the recipient of 2014 AIChE Process Development Practice Award, sponsored by Zeton, for his breakthrough contributions to polyolefins polymerization processes. He has been awarded 23 Dow Technology Centre awards for various process and product innovations and holds 22 U.S. patents including key patents in the solution polymerization process. He is the author or co-author of various publications in peer reviewed journals and several conference proceedings. He is also co-author of two book chapters in the area of polyethylene resins, especially focusing on homogeneous polymerization polyethylene resins.
Pradeep holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (India) and M.S.ChE from the University of New Mexico.
