Ramanan Krishnamoorti is a professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering holds the position of chief energy officer at the University of Houston since February 2013, leading the university's efforts to establish energy-centered partnerships on an industry and university level to address the world's most pressing energy challenges. From 2015 to 2107, he served as the interim Vice President and Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology Transfer at the University of Houston and University of Houston System. During his tenure at the university, he has served as a department chair of the UH Cullen College of Engineering’s chemical and biomolecular engineering, associate dean of research for engineering, professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering with affiliated appointments as professor of petroleum engineering and professor of chemistry. Krishnamoorti obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and doctoral degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University in 1994.
