Prof. Dr. Ir. Remko Boom is the Chair of Food Process Engineering in the Agrotechnology and Food Sciences Group at Wageningen University. His research focuses on food structure, digestion and health, along with modeling and implementation of membrane separation for effective use of milk components. He has authored over 450 publications in the field of Agricultural Technology and Nutrition.
He holds several appointments, including as a visiting professor of University of Tsukuba, Japan and Nanyang Technical University (NTU), Singapore. He is a member of the Academic Board of the Institute for Sustainable Process Technology, Leadership Team of the European Technology Platform Food4Life, Scientific Advisory Board of the NTU Food Technological Center, and International Association in Engineering and Food.
