Rick Tedeschi is the current chairman of the Hydrogen Safety Panel, an independent panel of industrial and technical experts in the US supporting the applied safety of hydrogen technologies. He is a chemical engineer holding a professional engineering license and credential as a project manager. Rick has worked in the chemical and nuclear waste management industries as process engineer and manager. Project management activities have supported clean-up of legacy radioactive wastes for the Department of Energy at the Hanford site, including the design, testing, and startup of key systems and facilities. He has developed and implemented safety analyses, operational safety requirements, and procedures and plans to safely store and retrieve radioactive and hazardous waste. He currently manages his own consulting firm and is contracted with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to advance the safety of hydrogen fuel cell, electrolyzer, production, and storage projects, in addition to supporting training and safety awareness by the AIChE Center for Hydrogen Safety.
