Robert M. Schisla, Jr. is a Senior Associate Chemical Engineer in the Worldwide Engineering and Construction Division of Eastman Chemical Company, where he consults and works in process development, scale-up, mixing and design. He has worked at Eastman for 42 years and has been Eastman’s mixing specialist for 37 years. He has been the technical leader responsible for process and scope development for many projects including being the lead technical engineer for a multi-billion dollar project. He is Secretary of the North American Mixing Forum (NAMF) and serving in his second term as a member of the Executive Council. He is Eastman’s representative to British Hydrodynamics Research Group’s Fluid Mixing Processes Consortium. Rob has served on three separate book projects for AIChE’s Center for Chemical Process Safety, authored papers and has five patents in extractive distillation and the manufacture of engineered beads/particles. He has served in numerous roles in his local AIChE Section including Chair and Director. He holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla.
