Rodney Combs is a group leader in Pfizer Inc.’s Bioprocess R&D group located in Saint Louis, MO where he leads a group of scientists involved in advancing Pfizer’s mRNA project portfolio and novel technology and innovation. The past 3 years, he has been responsible for leading the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine (Comirnaty) drug substance team responsible for process development, scale-up, process characterization, regulatory filing, and tech transfer of the mRNA DS process to commercial scale manufacturing. Rodney’s 35 years of industrial experience encompasses development of several recombinant expression platform systems including CHO, NS0, HEK, Baculovirus Insect Cell Culture, E.coli and yeast.
