Ruben Vázquez Uribe is co-Principal investigator of the Bacterial Synthetic Biology section at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainbility in the Technical University of Denmark.
He obtained his PhD from the Technical University of Denmark in the group of Professor Morten Sommer. His work as a PhD student helped to set up the foundation technology for CRISPR-Cas antimicrobials.
His research group focuses on harnessing the potential of the human microbiome by implementing precise, safe and programmable medicinal synthetic microbes to treat diseases in a transformative and target-oriented manner. His scientific work has resulted in various patent applications and peer-reviewed publications.
