Sachin Mittal, PhD, is an Executive Director in the Pharmaceutical Sciences & Clinical Supply department at Merck Research Laboratories at Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, USA He has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, during which he has taken positions of increasing responsibility leading teams across all modalities (small molecule, biologics, vaccines) in the area of sterile drug product development and commercialization. Currently, he heads the Vaccine Drug Product Development team at Merck that is responsible for developing vaccine drug products for all formats (live viruses, subunit & conjugates, adjuvants, and nucleic acid based) at Merck. During his career, he has contributed towards multiple marketed product development and regulatory filings across small & large molecules. Sachin is credited with over 50 research publications, book chapters, patents, internal/external presentations, and invited podia. Sachin also serves on the Governing Board for the Subcutaneous Drug Development and Delivery Consortium as the Vice-President and is an active member at AAPS. Sachin has a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the University of Michigan following a M.S. in Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Toledo and B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Delhi, India. In his leisure time, Sachin enjoys sports, cooking and family time.
