Somnath Basu, P.E. is Vice President Global Process Engineering and Chief Technology Officer at Headworks International in Houston, TX. He has over 30 years of experience in municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment system engineering and design. His prior affiliations include Shell Global Solutions, AECOM, CDM, Stone & Webster, and Raytheon (Badger) Engineers. His main interests are biological nutrient control processes and petroleum refinery and petrochemical wastewater treatment. Basu has a PhD in environment engineering from Northeastern Univ. and an MBA from the Univ. of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is a Fellow of AIChE, a member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE) of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES).
