
Stephen Calabrese, CPP, PMP, is a recognized expert in assessing and mitigating risks associated with transporting high-risk cargo, including hazardous materials and energy sector commodities. He has over 25 years of leadership in security, regulatory compliance, and emergency management. As the Americas Manager and Senior Principal Consultant at AcuTech, Calabrese specializes in risk management for complex global supply chains, regulatory compliance, and crisis preparedness. His work includes leading the industry in conducting maritime transportation risk assessments for the recent surge of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other chemical maritime export projects, conducting safety and security evaluations for supply chains in high-threat operational areas, and supporting regulatory engagement with U.S. and international agencies. As a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard (Port State Control and Maritime Enforcement Specialist), Calabrese has played a pivotal role in assessing transportation safety and security frameworks and emergency response planning for hazardous cargo transit. He holds a BS in criminal science from the Univ. of Texas and certifications including Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Project Management Professional (PMP), numerous anti-terrorism and force protection certifications, and Lean Six Sigma. Calabrese remains actively engaged with the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, various Overseas Security Advisory Councils (OSAC), and the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).
