Professor Pistikopoulos is the Director of the Texas A&M Energy Institute, and holds the Dow Chemical Chair professorship in the Artie McFerrin department of chemical engineering at Texas A&M. Prior to joining Texas A&M, he was a professor at Imperial College London, and the director of its Centre for Process Systems Engineering. Throughout his career, his research work has been focusing on the development of methods and tools for the optimal design and operation of process systems and their supply chains, which are economically feasible, exhibit good operability characteristics and are environmentally benign – these three pillars all contributing toward sustainable engineering.
