Takuya Tsuji

Dr. Takuya Tsuji is an associate professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Osaka University, Japan. He started his academic career as an assistant professor at Osaka University in 2004 after he obtained his Ph.D. at Kyushu University. He became a research associate professor in 2009 and an associate professor in 2012. In 2015, he also was a guest professor at ETH Zurich. His research interests span diverse areas, mainly focusing on the numerical modeling and physical elucidation of dense gas/liquid-solid multiphase and granular flows using DEM and resolved/unresolved DEM-CFD techniques. He published more than 50 papers in refereed journals and received 13 awards, including JSME/FED Frontier Award and Japanese Society for Multiphase Flow Best Paper Award. He was an editor of Advanced Powder Technology journal during 2013-2020. In 2020, he launched a spin-off company DENSE ltd. and now serves as CTO.
