A prominent economist in the occupational safety and health (OSH) field, Dr. Ray works for the National Institute for Occupation Safety and Health (NIOSH), CDC. He is the assistant coordinator for the Healthy Work Design and Well-being (HWD) program. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Connecticut. Before joining CDC/NIOSH, he taught at the University of Connecticut. His current interests are economics of work stress, non-standard and precarious work, future of work, health evaluation, health-related quality of life (HRQL) and well-being. Dr. Ray also works as an outcome research consultant to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital (CCHMC) and teaches economics at Miami University, Oxford.
