Tara Lee Lanier, QEP, is an environmental professional with Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) Corporate Environmental Support group. She earned her MSE in environmental engineering from West Virginia University and has supported environmental compliance and Responsible Care® implementation for more than three decades. Tara draws from her experience as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intern, a U.S. refining and multinational chemical industry environmental professional.
The MPC Corporate Environmental Support group leads advocacy efforts with the EPA regarding newly proposed and amended federal environmental regulations. This group provides subject matter expertise and supports continuous improvement efforts. Tara serves as the corporate lead for MPC’s water stewardship activities. She is a member of the ORSANCO River Users Advisory Committee and the American Petroleum Institute’s Clean Water Issues Group.
