Thomas Adams, PhD, is an associate professor and the associate chair of the Dept. of Chemical Engineering at McMaster Univ., which he first joined in 2010. He received a dual BS degree from Michigan State Univ. in computer science and chemical engineering, and a PhD from the Univ. of Pennsylvania in chemical and biomolecular engineering, then completed postdoctoral studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has recently been awarded the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering’s Lectureship Award, CSChE’s Emerging Leader award, and Ontario’s Early Researcher Award. He also received the title of University Scholar at McMaster Univ., and was named in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research’s 2018 Class of Most Influential Researchers.
