Thomas Gaj is an assistant professor of bioengineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he is also a member of the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA, and completed his postdoctoral training at the University of California, Berkeley. His research group is focused on the application of DNA and RNA editing technologies to treat neurodegenerative conditions.
